Palm Desert men arrested for child abuse, child porn

PALM DESERT — Two Palm Desert men were arrested after an investigation revealed they were allegedly involved in the sexual abuse of a juvenile Friday, June 28. Although sheriff’s officials have not released the victim’s name or age, jail records and official statements have indicated the victim was younger than 10-years-old.

A sheriff’s press release regarding the incident and arrests indicted the men are suspected of oral copulation of a minor, distribution of child pornography, and indecent exposure.

The investigation began when investigators from the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station were alerted to the suspected sexual abuse of a child occurring in the 74000 block of Scholar Ln., Riverside Sheriff’s Sgt. Albert Martinez later reported.

This sheriff’s investigation ultimately led to the arrest of Devin Daniel Lujan, 28, of Palm Desert, for oral copulation of a minor under the age of 10. James McCall Anderson, 31 of Palm Desert, was arrested for distribution of child pornography and indecent exposure. After their arrests, both men were booked into Indio Jail.

Lujan has since been released after posting 55,000 bail and Anderson was released after posting $30,000 bail. Both men are scheduled to be arraigned at Indio Larson Justice Center, Aug. 28, and the sheriff’s investigation is ongoing.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 15 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
