“Neither the victim nor the suspect in this incident resided on Bay Avenue. Their relationship to the residents and their purpose for being there is still under investigation,” Clear wrote.

The first deputy arrived at the scene of the shooting within two minutes of receiving the 911 call. The deputy found one male victim inside the residence suffering from multiple, life-threatening, gunshot wounds.

Firefighters and paramedics treated the victim at the residence before they transported him to an area hospital. During their initial investigation deputies on-scene where the shooting occurred on Bay Avenue obtained a physical description of a black, male, adult in his 30’s who fled the residence on foot.

Deputies converged on the area and began searching for the described suspect. During their search of the neighborhood, a deputy spotted a subject matching the alleged suspect’s description on the 23000 block of Dome Street. Deputies detained him without incident.

The man, who was identified as Crowder, was positively identified by witnesses as the person who had shot the unidentified victim.
