Stolen Vehicle Leads To Arrest In Good Hope

Good Hope, Calif.; Early this morning, deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station assisted the Riverside County Sheriff’s Aviation Unit with a stolen vehicle recovery and arrest.

According to Sergeant Brett Seckinger, on October 30, 2015, at about 12:30 a.m. the Aviation Unit received a LoJack signal registered to a 2003 Ford Expedition that had been reported stolen from Moreno Valley the previous day. Using the vehicle’s tracking system, the Aviation Unit located and followed the vehicle to a residence on the 23000 block of Lopez Road in the community of Good Hope.

Members of the department’s Aviation Unit observed three occupants exit the stolen vehicle and begin removing items from inside the vehicle. Responding deputies were guided to the location with the assistance of the Aviation Unit.

Upon arrival at the location, the patrol deputies located the three subjects and detained them without incident. Investigating deputies interviewed the driver of the vehicle and subsequently recovered evidence that directly linked him to the theft of the vehicle.

The two passengers from the stolen vehicle were interviewed and deputies determined they were not involved in the theft of the vehicle.

Eduardo Contreras, an 18-year-old resident of Perris, was arrested and later booked into the Southwest Detention Center for possession of stolen property and vehicle theft.

A search of the location where the stolen vehicle was recovered revealed a female juvenile who was listed as a Missing Person from the city of Perris. The juvenile was returned to her residence and released to the custody of her parents.
